JB3 and Windows XP Pro
« on: December 30, 2004, 02:20:33 PM »
For some reason, and I don't know why, the PC will not recognize the JB3 when I plug it into the pc USB(front and back). I don't have Firewire. I called nomad support, and he had me reinstall the installation cd, DL some software in a particular order and some drivers. I tried making sure the USB is working. Says it's fine???? WTF is going on?

anyone, thanx jess....

I run XP home edition, but I find that I have to plug in the jb3 to the usb and then turn it on.

I use XP Home and could never get the usb to work, so I  just dropped the $20 on a firewire card.

Dude, don't freak.  Go to www.nomadness.net.  Sounds like you don't have the proper updated drivers on XP.  Checkout their download section for the Jukebox 3.  Download all the latest appropriate drivers.

I tore my hair out too.  Then, I went to the above site and everything works fine (Firewire and USB).  Obviously, the Creative OEM software was not XP friendly at the time of its release.  FYI, I have XP Home.

I'd headin' out soon to run errands and go to the Syracuse vs Hofstra game up at the Dome.  If you need more help, PM me and I'll get back to you tomorrow.

Peace.

I don't see the driver upgrades.  It looks like I have a firewire input but so far it hasn't worked.  perhaps the driver is the issue.

I had to go into Device MGR, hardware, click on the Nomad JB3 USB hub showing, uninstall it and reinstall it ( the drivers). everything is fine now...
