sp store and jb3 playback
« on: December 30, 2004, 03:21:04 PM »
Hey everyone,
Wanted to know if anyone has ever been to the Sound Professionals store.  I am going to try to tape my first show on Jan. 15 and still need to buy mics/battery box and who knows what else. Right now, all I've got is the JB3.  So I figured since Mt. Laurel is only an hour and a half that I might make a trip down to South Jersey to learn some stuff, ask questions and buy the goods; maybe even save $ on shipping etc... Has anyone been there? Is it worth the drive?

Also, is there any way to get rid of the terrible hiss and reverb that I hear while listening to the JB3 in my car? I'm connecting with the Beamit FM radio transmitter from Radio Shack. I tried messing with the levels, but I have no idea what I'm doing.  I tried a cassette tape to cd thing also, but that just made it worse (I think b/c it changes it to magnetic sound) so I returned it.  As always, any and all help is greatly appreciated.
 Happy New Year's.

I tried messing around with some of those FM transmitter kits to try and play my JB3 back in my car.  They kind of sucked.  But I wasn't buying the most expensive one, either.  Make sure you are using the line-out in the back of the unit, that will have the best output for what you are doing.

cassette adapters will typically sound like shit on the reverse side but ok on the forward side. when i had a tape deck and used this method, i would always have to auto-reverse it to get good sound.

cassette adapters usually sound better on headphone output than line-out, too. line out is too low for cass adapters that are designed for a headphone-level output.
