Been shopping around for misc. items and started looking at CDRs. And I thought I'd ask everyone here what CDRs they use. Considering they can be purchased from very cheap to rather expensive....I was curious as to how much better these more expensive CDRs are and if they're worth the money.....even if they're just used for masters.

So, it really does make that big of a difference? I'm ashamed to say it, but I've never in my life used a high end cdr. Always the inexpensive ones.

I think the differnce is durability. The cheap ones will probably not work/have the coating chip off ect... long before the tys... Its not like they sound different or anything, but longevity.

I use the white-face Taiyo Yudens.  IME the silver faces on every other brand I've used flakes off eventually.  The white-face, or other printable surface discs, seem more durable so far.

I opted for the white faced printable TY's because to me, it seems like the silver faced would get scratched easier. The TY's are definetly a lot better quality than anything else.

Cascade Media has a good price on hundred spindle.

going against the grain here.
I like verbatims.
They use the same dye in them as medical grade archival media. (from my understanding)
Can't say I have lost one yet in the last 8 years +

Actually the TY's are inexpencive.  Arund my house the retail chains only carry the generics or the pale ink taiwanese discs witht he big name labels (sony fuji) and they charge top dollar for 50, so I figure i'l get thew TY's that are more reasonable.

those be some bitchin-ass cd-rs. if i hadn't landed 50 packs of TY fujis for $9.99 at rite aid a few months ago, i'd be buyin these again. :)
