ruby is a cross between perl and C.  It should run on any type of system w/ the ruby libraries installed

for the windows users
http://www.sugihara.com/ruby/

FYI: ruby code is similar to perl in that it is not compiled until runtime, basically a script, it also has a structure similar to C w/ functions, shared lib  and objects and such.  Personally i see no reason to use it as it can get very confusing and out of control in the hands of inexperienced programmers, (bypasses most of the warning and errors you would see in a c program and just runs but not always w/ the desired or intended results).  Proper use of perl is much cleaner and easier to run/interpret/debug.  This program is probabbly good but most of the ruby programs i have encountered are a load of crap.

If you're a windows user just go get the Godfather.  It will handle flac as well as pretty much any other audio format.
