oh, the hyper pattern is a bit "slimmer"

They call them cardiods because a standard cardiod kinda looks like an upside down heart (not really) hence "card" like cardiovascular. Pick up patterns effect tonality as well as pickup, basically, the more directional, the less ability to accurately depict the lower end. In theory. Anyone else?

Can someone tell me where the mic would be on the above charts??  I've looked at these for years and can't figure out where the mic would be???

I hear this question with some regularity and thought it should be noted that the polar pattern is three dimensional.
