from PC to DAT
« on: May 08, 2005, 03:17:16 PM »
Any suggestions on how to get a wav file from my PC onto a DAT?

I've got my M Audio soundcard hooked up to my D8 with a coresound in/out S/PDIF cable.  I open the file in wavelab and play it back.  I have the soundcard set to

H/W Out S/PDIF: WavOut S/PDIF
H/W Out 1/2: WavOut 1/2 (I don't think this one really matters)

but I can't get anything on to the tape.  Is this impossible or am I just using the wrong settings?

Oh well, it helps to read the manual...

Hardware settings: internal crystal
S/PDIF: restore defaults
HW Out: WavOut S/PDIF

Then send the Wavelab output to S/PDIF out and behold:  it works!
