buying Laptop: how with digi in sound?

i am considering buying a laptop as a replacement for a desktop pc.  i want to be able to connect my MD standalone digi out to the laptop digi in.Do all laptops have a optical in for the sound? If not, what can i do?

as far as i know, none have digital in.  i'd suggest looking into usb soundcard options like the egosys u24 or the emi 2|6 or a26 as they're called now i think...something along those lines should work well.

I belive the fujisu life book has digi in via optical

a UA-5 would work, no?
Tickets are dead to me.  Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost.  Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost.   And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost.  Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

ua5 would resample the digital signal being fed to it. 

the M-audio transit is a usb device that's said to be bit-perfect -- accepts and sends an optical signal and runs under $100.
