Discwelder tutorial?
« on: June 24, 2005, 06:53:08 AM »
Hi all..
i've got myself a copy of discwelder...but I have no manual.  As intuitivie as I thought it might be..I find that all my discs dont play.

anyone know of a faq or tutorial ?
simple 'how to" ?
or can someone tell me a simple step by step to burning a dvd-a w/this software?

bronze?

All I do is drag & drop each wav file and then hit the red record button.  The green "G" at each track indicates "gapless".
Schoeps cmc6/4v / Beyer mc950 / Line Audio CM3, OM1 / ADK A51 / Church Audio CA-14
Naiant Tinybox v2.2 / NBox(P) / Church Audio ST9200 / CA-UGLY
Sony PCM-M10 / Zoom F3 / Zoom F6

chrome.

here is what I find:
it wants me to make albums and groups..and then the tracks go into a group..but only one track.  then you have to make a new group for next track.
each group wants a track for each surround channel.  there is no straight stereo ...until you drag a stereo track into the group.  then all the multi-track crap goes away and you are left with just the single S track (stereo).

so I can make all of these "groups" , with each one containing a single stereo track.
I did that and burnt it.  I couldnt figure out anything else to do w/the software other than what I did.  and i fucked w/this for a few hours just to get this far.
the burnt discs are unrecognized by my DVD-A deck.

and it has an S in front of them, not a G.

still get a disc error upon playback.
I wonder if its my deck?  Its an older model DVD-A player...looks like it doesnt like home spun discs.

:(

OTOH, it plays 24/96 DVDv discs from audio DVD creator just fine.
I must be doing something wrong, or it just wont recognize dics I burn w/discwelder.

does anyone have a home-burnt DVD-A they can send me ...something that works for sure?
I just want to test my deck with a known disc that is in working order.

LMK..
I can trade for some of my recent 24bit stuff.  but i'll send FLACs.  :)

Maybe check out the software at http://dvd-audio.sourceforge.net/ ?
It's free and it works, although it's work in progress.

see -- http://dvd-audio.sourceforge.net/howto.shtml

Looks like this is a command-line-based program that creates an ISO image that can then be burned to dvd using nero, etc.
