What T-Bar is this?
« on: June 30, 2005, 02:33:57 PM »

Hey what T-Bar is this? Anyone know what the thread sizes are on the ends? 5/8?

What is the diameter of the T-bar?

Thanks,

It's not a t-bar, it's a Schoeps A20s shockmount with a Neumann clip stuck in either side...
Right now nothing...in the past: Schoeps CMC6, AKG 480, AKG 460, AKG 414, MBHO 603a, Neumann KM100, ADK TL>Schoeps MK4, Schoeps MK2, Schoeps MK41, AKG ck61, AKG ck62, AKG ck63, Neumann AK40, Neumann AK50, MBHO ka200>Lunatec V2, Lunatec V3, Apogee Mini-Me, Oade M148, Oade M248, Sound Devices MP2, Sonosax SXM2>Sony (mod)SBM1, Apogee AD500>D7, D8, D100, M1, R1, R4, R09, iRiver HP120, Microtrack

I'm not talking about the shockmount...what's stuck in there? The clips are screwed on to something.

There is no T-Bar, the clips are butt-to-butt.

Yep, it's just 2 Neumann clips stuck together inside a A20s....

No thread, they're just the perfect size to fit the A20s. Stick 'em in end to end and they go in tightly...

Atlas makes a 5/8 male thread piece about 3/4" long that you can use to thread the two mounts together. I use one to hold the stock Oktava clips together so I can do the same thing.

those are my mics from WSP at RCMH I believe.

I use a bolt cut to length with 2 nuts as spacers to hold the mic clips togther,
without something holding the clips togther the weight of the microphones make the clips slide around inside the schoeps shock mount.

you can do that with the stock clips that come with the mbho's for the active set up as well...but a kwonbar is so much nicer!  ;)
