Thinking of buying a UA5... which mod and what mics to run?

i've been thinking running mc012 -> pmod or wmod -> d7...  thoughts?

whichever one you can get your hands on, as oade doesn't do the mods for them anymore, unless the original ua5 was purchased from him...

yeah, i know that... but i figured there may be some on the market in the next year or so due to the new HD recorders rolling out. 

maybe i should just splurge for a R4??

I think that would be a wiser desicion.  I'm considering one myself... or a 722, but it won't be for a while...

Isn't Oade planning on mods for the R4?  I read somewhere about a combination TMOD/WMOD for the two sets of channels.

but how would the sbd sound running through one of those mods (for a matrix)?
