Topic: burning in interconnects?

bought some interconnects from Marc to run from my 148>modsbm1. Do these really need to burn in? and how? do I have to hook up the entire setup other than the recorder? Thanks, Marc.

depends on what they are.  Some people report 50hrs others 200hrs depending on what the ICs are made of.  Best thing is to install them between a reciever and preamp and just let them run for a few weeks with the reciever playing.  I don't have a  reciever so I strung mine between the cable box stereo out ports and the TV audio inputs because the cable box is always on.  That said, I refer you to my first comment because I didn't really percieve any difference when I tried to burn in my venhaus pulsars.   I did percieve a big difference when I had them cryo'd.

I've heard the same thing.  I run mine through a receiver and just let 'em burn overnight.  Usually good to go after that.

I'd love to see a documented double blind test where anyone can tell a difference on any system with any material.

me too, but I think I hear it in speakers and cable

me three.  that being said, i made a 6' set of xlr interconnects for v3>dv-ra1000 and they've been burning in for around 36 hours

so i'm getting ready to burn in my bumble bee cables and ic's and jwmod460's. so i connect everything up, just like at a show, minus the recorder and just let it sit there for 50+ hours? I have an ac adapter for my V3, so i could let it go even longer. but in a quiet room with no real sound, is there even a signal passing or is it just current that matters?

How much burn time required for 30ft mics cables.  Would it really hurt anything to run as normal at a show with little or no burn time?

It only took a few minutes to burn in my Schoeps actives.
