best bet bit perfect sound card?

for playback or for transferring dats to your pc?  Optical or coax?

Audiophile 2496 is great for transferring dats and/or for a coax out.

For bit-perfect playback via its toslink optical out I use a flashed chaintech av-710 -- $25

try ebay for the m-audio card, you can usually find them for 35-50$

:O they're down to $50? wow...paid $175 2.5 years ago...time to pickup several and start droping them in my linux boxen.

i believe i havew that same chaintech just to go from PC>receiver via optical output
