Edirol R1 on website?
« on: November 11, 2005, 09:07:14 AM »
Hi all - I've looked back through threads and I haven't seen anything ont his but... is the R1 ALREADY discontinued? I went to the Edirol homepage to find some info for a friend, and it's not listed there - only the R4.

I DID find the "old" link (looks like Edirol has redone their website) by googling R1, but there's big ole clanging warning bells goin' off.  What's the scoop?

Sorry if this has been discussed and I missed it - I did look!! :)

EEEENteresting.  Try going to www.edirol.com, and you'll see what I mean. "Field recording" - no R1.

Tx for the link!

whoa there, chicken little --

excerpted from the r4 press release (emphasis mine) --

The R-4 joins the extremely popular R-1 – a handheld, solid-state MP3/WAVE Recorder/Player – in clearly establishing EDIROL’s strength in the portable/field recording market. These two units satisfy many application areas including broadcast, location, and concert recording.

further, off the reviews page --

It IS listed on the Products page.  It's just not listed on the Video Products page.  Looks like they're in the process of integrating the Edirol and Roland websites, so things are a little screwy right now.

Ok, that makes sense.   One hopes they'll fix it though - unless you're well-versed with the company and how it's broken down into divisions, you're likely (as I did) jsut to type www.edirol.com and ...

Anyway, thanks very much!  :)
