Mac Recording programs?

Hey everyone... the artist that I am doing a DVD shoot with is going to record the SBD onto his laptop through his USB mixer... what we need to know is, what good recording programs for Mac are there, that we could download? We need a program by Saturday... so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

actually, Audacity may not be applicable as I dont think you can specify frame rate/drops which is a must for dvd work

I figured that's part of the WAV > DVD format conversion process, not recording proper.  But...I don't know jack about DVD, so...   ???

I'm not positive about it either...
I know in programs such as Soundforge, DP and others you can 'save/save as' a existing file and change their frame rate properties and set to non-drop as needed. I just dont know if Audacity has the same functionality.

does Audacity have support for SMPTE or time-code?(this will also be interface dependant)

Well, basically what we were going to do was video tape everything, and then extract the audio from the cameras and then take our outside recorded AUD and SBD recordings and synch those with the video in iMovie... so basically, we just need a program to record audio on Macs... I am using Soundforge on my PC lappy to record the AUD version of it. As long as we can record we should be in good shape.

FME, Audacity doesn't/can't recognize an external USB audio interface.  Even with the drivers installed, I can't get it to work with my UA-5.

I had no problem using Audacity with my M-Audio Mobilepre.  I recorded most of the Acoustic Planet tour onto my G4 using Audacity sometimes and Spark sometimes.  Spark is the best, unfortunatley it is no longer "officially" available, but Im sure it can be found on the interweb somewhere.

I'm very happy with Cubase SE for $99 ....

though one warning, the installer is broken on tiger .. you'll need "updated" media or download the hack published on cubase forums
(the serial verification dialogue depends on something that was removed in tiger?)
