Peluso CEMC6 VS DPA4061
« on: December 25, 2005, 03:21:20 AM »
Which do you think is better in your opinion? The reason why I'm comparing these is because they have been known to record acoustic instruments well.

I know the DPAs are better for stealthing because of it's small size but for sound, which do you think is better to use in a non stealth situation and with better sonic results?

what sort of music??acoustic?

If that is the case, id definitely go with the DPAs. If it is PA taping, id probably get the Pelusos. They both have gotten great reviews.

i'd go w/the peluso's personaly.  the DPA 406x's are nice and all, but the Peluso's are a little smoother imo.  I'm just not a fan of the DPA sound.  too dry for me.

another thing to consider is, where will you be recording from.  The DPA's are omni mics, the Peluso's give you the option of switching caps and having cards, hypers, omnis, or subcards.  in many situations, I'd say having cards or hypers will yield a more enjoyable recording than running omnis.  of course, if the situation is right, omni mics are great (i.e. on-stage).
