Saw this in a recent flyer, the Rode NT6 has an active cable setup, though there seems to only be a cardioid cap for now. Pricing is $700/pair through Sweetwater, maybe better deals can be had.

If these sound like the NT5 people might as well put a microphone in their ass and record from there. :P

It does seem tempting but don't be fooled I had the NT5s and poo on them.

They are identical to the nt5's  the highs drop off quickly after 10k.....not a good choice for distant micing.....
