I made a J-Disc out of a blank CD-R and some foam. Took about 10 minutes. How large are your mics? Obviously mine aren't very large, so if yours are small this might be a good way to go.

I got all of the parts from work (work bought them at the local hardware store).

The ingrediants were:

1. CD-R
2. Piece of foam with adhesive backing
3. 3mm Allen key
4. A clip from a pants hanger

I'll try to take some pics and post them back so you have an idea what the finished disc looks like.

I just have some CSB's (so about the same size). I'm heading downstairs to take some pics right now.

Here you go. Let me know if you need some more help...

Obviously you can improvise (since it's obvious that is what I did). I'd just take a trip to the local hardware and/or craft store. Lots of fun shopping for things like this.

Basically what I did was:

1. Take the CDR and stick the adhesive foam to it.
2. Either cut or sand the foam to the same size as the CDR (I used a belt sander).
3. Detirmine where you should drill a hole in the disc to get the caps in the center.
4. Drill a hole (slightly smaller than your allen key) in the correct location (I missed a few times as you can see).
5. Cut the allen key so it sticks out enough on each side to clip your mics on (assuming they have a clip). I used a dremel to cut the allen key.
6. Attach the large clip to the disc (I used a threaded t-nut and screw).
7. Enjoy.

try the 2 ft split, and also try out omnis is a NOS style config. I've liked the results I've gotten usuing that setup.

I've been pleased with a 1' A-B Split before, so 2' should be sufficient.

A-B split?  NOS?  Can someone quickly define these?
So far I've just been clipping my CSB's to my shoulders, so both capsules are aimed forward, with pretty good results.

Look at the first two threads at the top of this board, those both show the differnt mic configurations.
