Langerado UA-5 battery death : (

Any help here is much appreciated.  Anyone know where I can pick up a battery for my UA-5 in the Ft. Lauderdale area?  UA-5 batt is DEAD as in won't hold a charge.

If you want to pay 80-ish dollars, you can get the wal-mart style li-on batteries at Radio Shack.

I got mine for $70 at a Batteries Plus in Portland, I believe it's an Audiovox rechargable DVD battery (5400) and was a regular on the shef item.  Good luck.    Here's a link to one in Ft Lauderdale:

any camera shop should have what you want for more than you want to spend.  or try a hobby shop for a 9.6v rc car battery.  that should run you 15-30 bucks.

may be hard to rig that up if his set up is alrady using the li-ion batteries. he'd need new conncectors etc.

Man those batts have gone way up in price. I grabbed one at Wal-Mart last summer for 23 bucks on clearance, makes me wish I would have stocked up and sold them.

Wow...this guy jacked his price up recently. He had them at a starting price (no reserve) for $20 - $25 for the longest time. I got mine from him for about $30 shipped. Must be all of us TS'ers buying them and pushing them into supply and demand.

Ok, stupid question here, but in that ebay auction it says there is an ac adaptor included. Am I correct in assuming that is NOT the charger? I just cant figure out what the hell you would need an ac adaptor for with the battery if it wasnt a charger. If you have ac power I can see no point in using the batt?

comes with ac adapter for charging, car adapter for charging and power cable with tips (this will be tossed for a UA-5... need to get a ratshack adaptaplug and tips M and B) (M going on reverse polarity)

Got it. I was hoping the ac deal was the charger. I just didnt want to get one and then find out differently later. Thanks.
