What? They fixed a bug that no one here encountered? How dare they!?!

I think that's a first.

Here I go.... WMP 11 that's out now in Beta has been REALLY freaking good to me.  I always hated WinAMP and have been using WMP 9 (WMP10 sucks) and VLC.   WMP 11 has been working really really good for me.

This isn't firmware related but since this is the latest MT thread I thougt this would be the place to post.  I ran across a deal on some USB power adapters. A set of two, one for the wall and one for your car.  Using the car one you could top off the battery of the MT on the way to the gig. As for the wall one, since you already the one that came with the MT, you would just use the second one to carry with you so you can leave the first one at home or whereever.

P.S. I dont' recall ever personally buying anything from these guys but I have seen them around for a long time so I don't think they are a fly-by-night campany.

I record most of our rehearsals in MP3 so I can break them down and email stuff to the other band memebers.

I never had an issue with the files not playing in windows Media Player. Hmmmmmmmmmmm

bump
Seriously, the band makes the music. Tapers just point mics in the right direction and hit "record".

That's good to hear!  The last patcher I had complained about my AKGs, fluffed schoeps for about 15 minutes, stayed patched in, and farted on me all night long.

Um, in my room, one seam is a little off and I stare at it constantly. It's, like, destroying me.

So I just got the Transcend 8GB CF card from newegg today.  Using just the 1/8" and included mic, I was recording 24/96 so that I would fill up the card quickly.  I was running 1.4.0 and testing the card autosplit and such.  First thing I noticed was sometimes it would flash media full and not record.  I would hit record again and it would go on fine.  Then if the autosplit moment came, it would just freeze and not write the file.

Cue upgrading to 1.4.1b2.  Seems to have fixed all my problems.  It reads the media fine and does the autosplit correctly.  I am going to do some boring playback and see how it worked out.  Yes, I am going to listen to ambient office noise.  Yay...

Update 2: Well it seems that off of a fresh format, the autosplit worked correctly, however when I did some smaller recordings and then went for an autosplit it just froze the MT so the jury is still out on this one.  Note that it did record everything correctly except when the autosplit was invoked.  I am going to run some tests to run it basically up to that point and manually split.  It should be noted that other than that error, there were no problems with the recordings.  And besides, who really wants to autosplit when there is that gap in there anyway.  Wait for a song break I say.

Update 3: Screw this card, I am buying a Kingston Elite Pro 8GB

Another crash!  On this firmware (of this thread)

@ DMB @ Fenway, used the MT to check my levels (right and left since the R1 is one mono level meter) and I didn't have time to hook up the UA5 and MT pre opener.

Recorded about 2-3 seconds, hit record to stop it... said "writing file" for the entire power left in the battery.

After I recharged the battery, all worked well at the 2nd night.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

Anyone know of a special key combo to force a reset?

Anyone know of a special key combo to force a reset?

Just press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds (just hold it until it turns off).

So, it's been awhile since I've done any recording with my MT, and I'm getting ready for 10klf so I'm trying to refresh my memory. I have a Hitachi 4gb microdrive but I want to buy a few cards this week so I'm not constantly needing to transfer everything. What would everyone recommend? Are the 8gb one's ok now? Anyone having any other particularly weird problems with the newest firmware (other than autosplit)?

Just press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds (just hold it until it turns off).

No such luck, tried it for close to a minute... and it was 110% locked up.
