Topic: Suggestions for mic assortment

I provide on-site multi-track recordings and am about to flesh out my collection of mics. The ones I have are a motley collection I've put together over a period of years.

I run a Peavey 12-channel mix board for straight taping into either a Tascam DAT or laptop, depending on need. I also run an Echo AudioFirewire12 into a laptop with Tracktion / Wavelab if I'm not mixing on the fly.

I'm looking for suggestions for a selection of mics to have on-hand. I'm not looking for specific brand names and models, rather the types of mics you'd have available for live shows if you were going to mic everything from amps to drums to vocals. I'd like to get a set of mics that will become my primary set, and retire my existing ones to back ups.

Condensors: AT 4050s,at 4047s, akg 414s,km184s, oktava mc012((sp?), akg 451,behringer ecm 8000, avenson ST0-2, shure ksm141, shure ksm44, (guitar cabs, acoustic guitar, keys, vocals, room)

Dynamics: senn 421s, sm57, re-20, d-112,md441,sm57, sm58(percussion, cabs,brass, voice)

ribbons: beyer m201, m130/m160,shinybox ribbons,(very cheap!) (brass, woodwind, voice, room)
in his "rock/pop/metal" kit. His classical kit is much different.




edit: the 4050 sounds good on everything...that thing is like a swiss army knife.

I'd agree that the AT 4050's sound great in a variety of applications...
I've used them on acoustic instruments, vox, and percussion, and it all sounded beautiful. 

I'm also a big fan of the Shure KSM line.  The KSM32 is one of the most transparent mics I've ever listened to.
