Topic: Question on High Pass Filter for Rode NT2

Anyone know how much bass the high pass filter will cut back on, on the RODE NT2.  I'm not finding any specs on them since they've been replaced by the NT2A which has 3 settings for  Flat,80 Hz or 40 Hz.  By the way what can anyone tell me about the difference between the 3 setting on the NT2A, since I will be aquiring one soon?

I can't find my info for the NT2's, but I can tell you that I have ran almost 1,000 shows with NT2's. I bought a pair of NT2A's last year. After 2 shows, I returned them. They had no life to them. They sounded dull. I ran them on stage next to my NT2's and the NT2's had much more range and fullness to them.

I should also add that I have never had to use the high-pass filter on the mics, so I can't really comment on that part....

 Well with a little research I found that deep bass is at  20Hz to 40Hz; bass listed as 40Hz to 80Hz; and upper bass is located from 80Hz to 160Hz. As far as the Rode NT2A not having as much fullness I see your point, but the NT2's bass is sometimes sloppy.  I have been happy with the NT2A with my 3 mic set up because it brings in some good sounding tight bass to warm up the recording, so I've been a little happier with the NT2A because I don't neccesarily need the mids or highs it produces.
