Burning to DVD-Audio
« on: August 14, 2006, 06:09:53 PM »
Hey Guys,

Is there any freeware available for burning to dvd-audio?  I recently downloaded the Alan Parsons DSOTM quad mix and my copy of Nero doesn't have any options for dvd-audio.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

get scott brown's dvd-audiofile.  it will create the .iso image file for you, and then you can burn that in nero.  do a search on TS for "dvd-audiofile", its available for mac and pc.

A good friend will come bail you out of jail, but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn... We F**ked Up."

if you downloaded an image, just tell your burning app it's an image.  it won't care what kind of disc it is if it's already made into an image...

Download WYWH now. I have the SQ (Vinyl) Quad mix and the 8-Track Tape Quad Mix, but not this one. The info on torrentbox seemed to indicate that this is an upmix from the cd remaster (and that it is in 5.1) - it is running now so I can not listen till its done - does anyone have more info on this. Thanks all

+T OFOTD for the heads-up!

I also have Atom Heart Mother (SQ Quad, 2 versions, DTS encoded) - b&p's available if anyone needs it.

I have listened to this and I am pretty sure that is a fan-made upmix. The notes on the torrent site indicated as such, and comparison to the SQ Quad and the 8-Track Quad led me to this conclusion. It does sound good, but it does not have the separation of instruments -  I would guess that it would be called a matrixed-surround, or something like that. Nice listen, but not the quad mix.

FWIW, I have quad mix in DTS and in Dolby Digital format - so let me know if anyone needs a copy...

again, these images don't need anything other than a burning program.  if you already have the .iso, there is no specialty dvd-audio software required

Remember, Animals was never released in Quad - only the fan DTS upmix is available.....

If you need the WYWH SQ or Q8 Quad pm me - I have the Animals upmix as well...
