Topic: re-using XLR connectors

ok, so last night, my freaking cat munched on my 10-foot canare XLRs.  She's done this in the past, and I know to keep them safe and inaccessible.  I was coiling them back up when the phone rang, came back 30 seconds later, but it was too late.  damn cat.  anyway, not a big loss, as they were just standard Canare star-quads.  I almost used this as an opportunity to buy some nice silver cables that so many people here offer, but ultimately decided not to based on the following two points:
(1) I really love the sound of my recording gear, especially now that I'm running 24 bit, so why change a good thing?
(2) money is tight right now, with 2 months to go until my wedding.

So, I'm going to make myself another set of Canare star-quads, and what I'm wondering is this, can I re-use the right-angle Neutrik XLR's that I have on my old set.  I have a de-soldering iron (or whatever it's called.  it heats up like a soldering iron, and it got a bulb that you squeeze and then suck the older solder away.).  ok, so that thing works pretty well, and I'm confident I'll be able to remove just about all the old solder.  if I then re-use the connectors and solder on the new cables, will there be any sonic differences?  I'm assuming not, but I thought I'd check here to get your opinion.

you'll be fine. heat up the solder and use a solder sucker to suck the old solder out.

yea you'll be fine, doen't even reqire the desolder bulb, soldering wick would work as well.
