150ma is not nearly enough to power the UA5, it wants minimum of 500ma...  If it powers up, but doesn't have phantom, it's a power issue.

Try the UA5 wall-wart.  If it doesn't work with that, I'd have to say something is blown...

Yup, that's the problem.  Wait until you get your li-ion battery, try again, and let us know the results.  And remember:  while most devices take (+) tip, (-) ring, and most batteries are wired the same way, the UA5 is opposite and takes (-) tip, (+) ring.

input: ac 120v 80Hz 6.5W
output: 9VAC 150mA


using AC instead of a DC wallwart power prolly didn't help much.  wont know if it's jacked til he finds a proper PS.  as brian said above def make sure TIP NEGATIVE!!!!

The UA-5 has reverse voltage protection diodes in its power supply input path, so the AC is not likely to have caused any damage.  It just won't work with AC.
