Reciever reccomendations???

I am buying Nick's VR-4s, and his amps, have a denon 2900...but I need a reciever.


I dont want to break the bank, but will spend as much as I have to to get a decent unit that will last me for a few years.


any and all suggestions welcome. what are you folks using?

let me suggest the receiver i use, it has come down in price significantly since i bought it but im sure its not all that cheap anymore- you are gonna have to do some research.  it is only missing 2 things i wish it had- greater video switching capabilities and hdmi ins

sorry, after a reread, what i suggested doesn't have a tuner, but id wait on a tuner until the hd radio home boxes are out in full force- id rather have that quality of radio than a built in receiver.

especially here in Germany...ridden by gay house music, trance, hop hip, and pat boone.

knowing what you listen to and knowing the types of gear you like i really think you need to audition some of the mac gear- its got that vintage sound i think you will like, but with very modern electronics.  my combo with my b&w's makes my classical music sing.  turandot has never sounded so good.
