Topic: Samson PM4 output voltage

Does anyone know the voltage that the Samson PM4 supplies to the mics?  I thought it was 9v but the manual doesn't say.  I don't understand the mention 18v -48 v mentioned on the PM4's case since the manual indicated an operating voltage of 12-48v.

The sampson outputs 10 volts this is  a standard electret supply level and would work with all electret mics including my mics. The 18 to 48 volts is the defacto phantom power standard its should be more like 18 to 52 but 18 to 48 is fine, this voltage refers to the input voltage the xlr connector will see via the phantom power.

Thanks Chris +T  Yeah when I saw 18v to 48v on the PM4 I assumed they were refering to input phantom voltage which as you said should be up to 52.  What confused me was the input voltage range in the manual (12-48) which didn't match the numbers on the case. I guess It can be powered by input as low as 12v.

12 volts might be pushing it You never know until you try your not going to hurt anything but I would suggest atleast 18.00 volts. If it works just watch for increased distortion.

Yeah I'll be feeding them 48V so everythings good there.
