AT M350s Cardioid Mics

Came across these the other day in a Gear magazine.

Anyone own these or know what they sound like?

They are tiny, 1.5" L X .5" W.

I have been looking for a small mic that will satisfy before I can afford the DPA 4022s.

I could be wrong, but I *think* this may be the new version of the old ATM 35.  If so...I've used that mic a few times with good results.  Similar size to an AT853, with the ability to withstand higher spls.  To my ears the ATM35 was a little more bass/low end heavy than the 853.  I think it might have originally been designed as a snare mic.  The set I used was powered with an AT8531 phantom box and I don't think they could be used with battery boxes, so there is a little bit of added bulk.

Here is a dylan show recorded with the ATM35.  Recording was done right up in the stacks.  Only a few seeders remain, but you may be able to dl a track or two.

I don't have a comment on the ATM 350.

However, for the purposes of general information: the ATM35 has the exact same capsule as the classic AT853, believe it or not.

Those look like the newer version of the AT853.  Different capsules (but claim backward compatable), but similar specs.

As for what the OP said, ATM35 are the same as AT853.  I think ATM350 are just the never version.

By the way, what price did you see these for?  I would not pay more than the cost of AT853 (with power module).

Not sure if that price includes the power adapter, but soundpros has the old ATM35 (w/o power adapter) for about $100 less.
