install ua-5 on mac
« on: November 19, 2006, 06:32:09 PM »
have the disc in and see

UA-5 USB Installer E   UA-5 USB Installer J  and a folder called ASIO

Click the Installer E and up comes You do not have a version of Mac OS 9 installed that supports Classic. Install Mac OS 9.1 or later (Classic Support).
same goes when I click Installer J.
does it only work in Classic mode?

Apparently you have the os 9 classic driver on that disc (I was not aware that it even existed).  Whether you're accessing the incorrect files on that disc or it's an old release before tiger came out, I'm not sure.

Either way, I just downloaded mine from Roland's site.  Look here, second one down.  Never really had any problems with it.

Hope that helps.

It works, but I don't use it.  I also use it for tracking but it's a memory/resource hog so beware.  I use Quicktime 7.0 for usb recording, much smaller/simpler program and doesn't take up near as much memory to run.

No clue on external batteries, whenever I tape with my ibook it's usually when I have AC power available, or I am sure that I can cover it with my internal batt.
