yeah they are like $1.80 per capsul @ digikey

if u buy like 10 you can possibly match a pair and just in case u damage a capsul by heating too much with solder gun, you have spares

And heating too much with a soldering iron is definitely a potential problem.  I think it causes the electret element to lose some of its polarization voltage.

Thanks for all the answers and T to all. However digikey doesn't seem to have the 20-20k model used (wm-61 i think). Is there any other place i can get them? I think this is the one: WM-61A right? 20-20k

Yeah, if they're that cheap, i'll buy more than 2 pairs.. I'm no soldering wiz either and a f' up is more than likely.

Check the part#s at the shack.  Only buy WM61A.  Those are: full range, flat, high SNR.  Others may not meet all these criteria.

no link I remember I picked up a few a couple years ago to make a small stealth mic set for a friend.  They might not carry them anymore but they were in the parts bin.

This is the only known source outside of earthworks that still have wm-60 capsules and he hand matches them sells them with calibration papers. so they can be used with analyzers.
