It's Sat Night.... baby is asleep and mommy is out with the girls... just me and the dogs (and a cold Abbey Double fresh from the taps at Rams Head Tavern) for a while... I am pondering the RE-Eq question...
I am only able to get out to a 2, maybe 3 shows a month depending on location with the family and I have more time at home to process things than I have in the past. The vast majority of my shows come from one of 2 or 3 venues and I know almost instantly weather or not it is "mixed well'... I have recently begun to tinker with some of my more recent recordings in an effort to "correct" the original mix... most often it is a preponderance of bass, though sometimes it is too much high symbol...
It is a lot of work to sit here and go through the process over and over to 'get it right' for my ears but I have come to enjoy it...
A big +T to Sleepypedro who has posted much of my stuff and when he does it is totally raw... I do this for myself...
I am curious to hear the thoughts of others out there....
Thanks - as I sit here and work on a Bob Schneider show...
