question on this
if i wanted to run 2 414's M/S
how would one go about setting it up and how would the mike need to be configured?!?
i usally run the 414s hyper towards the stacks in larger venues and xy card in smaller ones

you'd make a T w/them if you go the horizontal route.  one mic just straight on, the other above/below it pointing forward, but laying on its side w/the caps pointing out at you (from the side).

the vertical route is the way to go.  top mic upside down, bottom mic normal and have them about 1/4" apart.  twist them around as needed this way.  XY, MS..etc.  there are great pics in the archive.

Like this Blumlein / XY setup, but rotate the top mic so the diaphragms are pointed straight at the sound source, and the bottom mic so it's diaphragms are perpendicular to the sound source:

Milab VM-44 Links > Fostex FR-2LE or
Naiant IPA (tinybox format) > Roland R-05

so mike 'A' is perp to  the sound source in a fig 8 pattern
and mike 'B' faces source in a card pattern right

Yep, it's side address.  It sounds pretty good.  Right on par with the rest of the blue line caps.
