Any real world opinions?  I wanna try something off the beaten path. 
The reflection ring sounds like it would be fun to play around with on the VD.
It's gonna be one or the other.........Whataya think folks?

Edited to say:  Initially I was focusing on a small pair (lengthwise) so the THE's probably suit my needs better.

How many duckets these cost?  Just curious.

Dont know anything about these mics...but I'd go with the violet just on looks alone.  Nice frequency responce also....I like the litte bump on the highs (a la Neumann).

How rugged is the violet mic capsule.  For schlepping those around in a gear bag make me wonder about durability.

yep you are right. the t.h.e mics you were interested in have capsules sourced from oktava. The Kr series from Argentina

Well I went with the Black Finger.     Same mic just silver instead of gold.   

Full Compass would have gladly ordered them but ETA was a little longer than I wanted.  $663 shipped w/ reflector rings.  :0)  (with Paypal holiday bonus) Full Compass is great.  I emailed them this morning and they called me at home.  Very cool.

Wish I could say the same about Full Compass.  They are on my shitlist right now.  I sent a mic back (defective) last fall.  I'm still waiting on it.  Not going to be here until March.  I don't even want the damn thing anymore 


Let us know how you like the Finger.  As Dirk stated, these are on the shortlist of condensors.

My first full compass experience is going down right now.  I ordered the AK 43 cap.
I have a feeling that they are going to hit me with the "out of stock on the B-stock" item....BS.
