I exhanged some e-mails with the manufacturer and they sent me some data sheets and a demo DVD with sample files from the big Holophone-Pro and the less expensive big one, but no sample from the mini, which I think would be compromised by its smallness compared to it's head sized big brothers anyway.  I was underwhelmend.

My thinking was similar to Mike's:
buy a nerf ball, and wire it with five+ 4060's, and you're flyin.

That was my thinking and partially my motivation for the inquiry, although I figured four lavs on a nerfball.. or HRTF style in a hat or a stylin' fly-guy headband. 8)  I'd still like to experiment with that but I lost interest after hearing the lackluster results of the $$$$ professional version.  Perhaps two intersecting Jecklin discs with the four lavs would work better.  I'm 2 track only at this point anyway until I buy a laptop interface..
