anyone use these before at shows?  i imagine that it emits a fairly bright light so i hope i don't disturb anyone, any thoughts?

not that particular brand, but that is what i have in my gear bag.  hands free is very helpful.  plus it has a red LED for a less intrusive glow.  also i can use the carbiner and hook it to things to shine on to the bag when running.

just a trusty old maglite here.  Although I have seen folks add these to their maglite to keep from chipping teeth...

i've been gently slammed here about about using a headlamp.  daryan posted pics form mule 9:30 a few years ago, and the heat was turned up a bit.  "we already look like a bunch of geek's", etc...

i love mine and have at least three, since i use them for my day job also, peering around behind racks of audio gear.  also, indespenable in theatre, camping, working on car in dark, etc...

I have a Petzl for night/trail running. Never thought about brining it to shows! My mini maglight works just fine.

I use one of these guys.  It will stay on with one press, so I can just hold it in my mouth if neccessary.

I have a petzl, use it for fishing at night. Never thought about using it for taping. I have mini maglight in my bag. I would imagine you could piss some people off if you forget to turn it off, shine someone right in the eyes.

I keep a Petzl Zipka in the bag. It's small enough to throw in my pocket when I'm done setting up and I can grab it to shine some light on the floor when somebody is walking by. I keep the green lens cover on it so it's not so obnoxious.

Pockets full of nickels and nothing left to eat, and I'm stuck behind a semi on Soniat Street.

I've got a wind-up LED flashlight.  Never have to worry about the batteries for it... lives in the Orange Box and is quite happy there.

Bonus... chicks seem to dig it when you wind it up, they always wanna touch it!

Yes, but what do you HEAR?
