AKG C414 B-ULS > T-Mod Edirol R-4 Pro
« on: March 21, 2007, 04:49:23 PM »
I picked up this LD mic to run as a 3rd with my mod AKG 460's. Since I'm already lugging around a Portico and R-4, I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on running the 414 directly into the R-4 with the 460s going Portico > R-4. The R-4 has Busman's T-Mod on all 4 channels.

Thanks for any input!

I think it'll sound great!  Nice lush, meaty sound will complement the mod460s nicely, I bet.

Sweet! That's exactly what I was hoping for. Given the 4 patterns on the 414, any recommendations on the 3 mic configuration to run since I have the card, hyper and omni caps for the 460s?

Thanks again!

fuckin A Jeff - accumulating quite the gear stash over there  ;D

i agree with Brian - i think the 414 will sound great with the mod 460s - probably couple quite nicely with the T-mod as well  - although I am of the school that more mics doesn't always mean better tapes but you should have lots of fun experimenting with all the options you've got  ;D

Welcome Jeff...
You took the first step and admitted your powerlessness over your gear addiction.

I started carrying the camera with me due to those habits. Some how they all lined up one night and I titled it "My LIfe".  :)

I'll be trying the 3 mics out tomorrow night at Perpetual Groove so we'll see how it goes.

Thanks for all the feedback.
