run the high-gain setting. its not that bad. I use it all the time recording quiet acoustic music, and am quite happy with the results (you just don;t want to peg it at full open, at 70dB, its a tad noisy. But, at 65dB, its a whole other sound).
Thats about where I've been running them and I still have to add a little in post. I guess thats not a terrible thing.
Another option I have on the mic side is to use the regular Nak 700 barrels(no attenuation). That would mean I would have to have the mod redone and with out leegeddy I don't know who to approach on this.
I undersstand Busman can bypass the attenuator in the -15dB barrel as he offered that option to our friend Gary.
