Need mounting suggestions akg ck91's
« on: April 16, 2007, 02:56:09 PM »
Looking for suggestions On how to mount AKG ck91 caps. With hardwire actives.
Is there a active mount made by AKG? I couldn't find anything.

Tried the PVC DYI it just won't work for this setup. Due to the caps being hardwired to the actives & The cable is stiff on the back up to where the blue or red starts.

Here's a pic

Thanks
Jeff

Jeff,

I think I have a couple of Neumann actives clips around somewhere if you think they'll work.  No bar or screws or anything, just the plastic end clips.

i believe your best bet is a vark bar with the schoeps active clips. you can shockmount the vark bar in one of the a20s knockoffs, the Joe Meek shockmount. http://posthorn.com/Macvk_4.html  http://posthorn.com/Sbutton03.html  SGC or SGCM are the model #s for the schoeps clips. good luck!

I was gonna refer to one of my dad's uber cheap keyboard auctions on fleabay.  We have several hundred in a box, all used but in perfect working order.  And clean  ;)

Looks like Dirk has your new mounting option.  Or Dennis' option.

Yes AKG makes clips for the Bluelines. It comes with the MK90-3 and is the h98. No idea how much it would be to purchase separately.

Hey, those are my mics (and keyboard!).  Let me know how they work for you.

For mounting I've had great luck just taking some 12ga house wire (thick stuff, like used for dryers or air conditioners), removing the strands out, and making a "loop" big enough to hold the mics by the windscreens.  You can then run the wire to a clamp or any other improvised support.  This is cheap, easy, and the windscreens basically act as shockmount.

Here is a photo:

This is an earlier (messier) version of the mics, I think my CK93 hyper caps.
