Superclamp on a table?
« on: April 18, 2007, 09:10:37 PM »
Anyone have a trick for using a superclamp on a table?
The V cutout makes it shift.  I was thinking about cutting a piece of wood to wedge in it to fill the void.

p.s. it works fine on a thin table but not with a thick one.

there is a insert for the superclamp if you don't want to cut a piece of wood.  Maybe call some places and see if they have an extra laying around.

I would recommend investing in a Bogen quick release C-clamp. http://www.adorama.com/BG649.html?searchinfo=bogen%20c%20clamp&item_no=1  Used along with a Bogen quick release mount, it is an extremely stable and versatile clamp, with a built in 5" extension arm.

Looks nice, is the extension arm tucked away in the body of the clamp (telescoping)?  But, I already have 2 superclamps and a mini-clamp.  Perhaps I should sell one of my superclamps and get one of these.....does it ever end!

If you want to split that package with me, I'll pay half for 2 of those wedges...

Let me know...

Yes, the extension arm tucks into the body, and you can use it either extended or not.  With the quick release mount, you can then point your mics either vertically or horizontally, depending on what surface direction you are clamped.

It looks like there are 4 sets of 2 in the package.  I guess that makes a total of 8!
I just need one.
If someone doesn't have 1 to kickdown, I'll go ahead and place the order in a few days....

I'd be in for a couple of those wedges if available.  Thanks.
