V3>MINIME(W/ usb)>Microtracker
« on: May 11, 2007, 10:32:12 AM »
Can anyone share experiences coming out of the MiniMe's USB into a Microtracker?
Seems I would need a USB cable and thats it?
I am just buying the mini me and microtracker to try 24 bit...
Any help woud be appreciated, Thanks in advance...
Hope I put this in the right area, Bri?

the USB jack on the Microtrack is only for power/data transfer to a computer.  The Microtrack is not a USB host device, and you can NOT record using the USB as an input.  However, you could use the S/PDIF output from either a V3 or a MiniMe to record onto the MicroTrack via the S/PDIF input.

You cannot record through the USB of the MT, either the SPDIF, the 1/4" or 1/8" ...

It's not always easy to know where to post when asking about multiple pieces of gear together - you're not alone.  Looked like this one boiled down to how to connect the MT to the rest of your gear, so I moved it here.  No biggie.

Larry, I wrote this exact information to you yesterday via a PM.  Are you not getting (or reading) your messages?

Out of curiousity, why do you need a V3 in front of the Minime?

And one very important point of information.  The s/pdif jack on the Microtrack is built poorly and only accepts digital cables with thin metal casing.  For instance, the nice fat jack on the Monster coax will not fit in the MT.   Before you buy a cable, or attempt to use an existing one in the field, please make sure it fits the MT first!
