OK so I got this for free.  I know it ain't much.  The question is:  Is there anything that can be done to this mic to make it worthwhile?  And, yes I've got some time on my hands being unemployed right now, Kirk

I dont know but I would love to take a look at it and see if I can do any mods to it.

DAMN, you posted even before I could edit my post.  Do you have a TS feed hardwired into your brain?  Interesting offer  I mean this thing is only worth $60 brand new right now.  But, then again I'm sure you could do a better job than me...Hmmm very tempting Chris....then we could talk about an xlr connector and phantom power too...

Lets not get carried away I cant turn a turd into a steak I was thinking of reducing the distortion and changing the mic capsules. Not making it balanced and making it run from phantom

It's a decent mic to use on a video camera to get some improvement over the built in mic.
