Clamp for T mount bar?
« on: May 22, 2007, 09:02:24 PM »
I bought this Sound Professionals T Mount bar:

Is there some type of clamp I can get where I could mount this on poles, rails, and such for a little more versatility? I'm looking at less than $50.

I've had good luck using the Pedco products, the Ultrapod and the Ultraclamp.

The Ultrapod is great for attaching to pillars and stuff like that because of the velcro strap that can be wrapped around things that are too thick to clamp to. I also carry an extra long strap for fatter pillars.

The Ultraclamp is just a good lightweight, yet sturdy clamp for edges of tables, stands, etc.

Both make a great setup that gets you ready for just about anything. I think you could also get both for what you want to spend and maybe even have some left over. Shop around a little (use froogle or pricegrabber) to find the best price.

The archive is your friend

your clamp looks like it has a standard 5/8" mount so most of the clamps in the link should apply.

Feel free if you have any questions/concern about the roundup of clamps

I would highly recommend getting the Bogen Quick Release C Clamp, and a Quick release adapter.  You will probably want the adapter anyway to mount the bar on any non-threaded stand.  The C Clamp is one of the widest clamps, fits around almost all balcony type rails, and with the quick adapter, you can mount your bar either vertically or horizontally, depending on the clamp space. Very versatile.
