How to transport LD mics? Storage too?
« on: May 31, 2007, 04:05:25 PM »
TS-
So I have some LD mics and have been storing them, and taking them to shows w/o issue, but Im sure Im not using the best methods. Im interested in a pelican case or something similar to put them in. I saw the pelican 1120 which looks good, but was wondering what others do/use to transport and/or store their LD mics.

Thanks TS, stay crunchy!

Seriously, the band makes the music. Tapers just point mics in the right direction and hit "record".

That's good to hear!  The last patcher I had complained about my AKGs, fluffed schoeps for about 15 minutes, stayed patched in, and farted on me all night long.

Um, in my room, one seam is a little off and I stare at it constantly. It's, like, destroying me.

Hey there,

I am selling something similar over in the yard sale. it is a little bigger, but I used it for mics mounts and bars.

I use a Pelican 1200 to hold my TLMs and a Shure bar.  The TLMs have an attached mount, and are about as big as LD mics get, so I opted for the slightly deeper case.  Depending on the dimensions of your mics, you might be able to use something a little smaller.

I kept my u89's in a Pelican 1060 for local transportation...  When I was traveling for real I had a rolling case from them that I had cut the foam to fit the mics, 702, windscreens, cables, etc.... Not cheap but you could use it as carry on luggage.
