Is this source info right...?
« on: June 01, 2007, 04:39:49 PM »
Came across this show on The Dime and, to satisfy my own curiousity, I was wondering if the source info was mis-labeled:

Soundboard > reel to reel wave > flac frontend

WAV is digital.  Reel to reel has been analog with some digital in the early digital years.  In Switzerland anything is possible.  Studer/ReVox has a tradition of making the flat best recording equipment, both advanced audiophile (real audiophile) and professional.  I could not find a digital reel-to-reel on their site.  But I would be surprised if they did not manufacture one.  They make really good stuff.  I have one of their products that is about 25 years old now and going strong.

Short answer: it is possible.  In Switzerland, more possible.
