Microtrack 2496 pre ?
« on: June 03, 2007, 09:43:18 PM »
I just got done tracking a stealth Jorma Kaukonen steath tape a made, and it did not come out as good as I had hoped it would. I went CA Cards ~> CA 9100 ~> JB3 and the show was not very loud, the crowd was louder at times. I did not crank the JB3 pre in fear it would sound nasty from hard drive spinning noise. I went +20 on the pre (max) and plus 8 on the JB#. Would a Microtracker have saved me? Can its pre be pushed up without noise issues?

If you really want a good combo with my preamp get an R-09 or an H120 they are very good. I like the JB3 but I find that the built in preamp sucks and is very noisy. Compared to the R-09 or the H120.
