Alrighty, I say that the Western Digital MyBook's were on sale at Target for $134.00 this week at Target and couldn't resist. Yes, I too have been looking into some RAID or other NAS solutions that I'll dig into as time goes on... but the 500gb drive was just too good of a deal to pass up (especially since you can attach it to the Apple Airport Extreme). I was hoping to use the MyBook to host my iTunes library so I wouldn't have to clog up my laptop (Macbook Pro) with a gazillion mp3 files. I know this can be done but after some Google searches it seems this can be done a few different ways.
Is it best to install iTunes on the MyBook drive or setup a remote library on the MyBook drive?
Anyone got a site link or some info on how to do this?
FWIW - Setup was PAINLESS, the (FAT32) drive merely plugs into the Airport Firewire port on the back and 'voila' - my Macbook Pro instantly recognized the drive, as did my XP Pro machine.
Thoughts?
