Jim Williams or R.A.L.
« on: June 25, 2007, 07:10:45 PM »
...so I see on both websites they offer upgrades to the C422 @ $300. I have emailed both to get a more detailed answer about what their "upgrades" would do to the sonics and how it would benefit by the upgrade, so we'll see. I am familiar with JW460's and kinda what the mods do but not with R.A.L.(thanks to Mr. DaSilva for the link)...thoughts, tales?

I didn't know that RAL did mods to the 460s. Has anyone tried or heard their modded 460's? Do they differ from the JW mods sonically? Sorry to hijack the thread but it's nice to know that there is another option.

I know you like, tape for people's approval and stuff, and wave your tapes around like they're your dick...  but even you can't actually think section tapes from philips sound good.

I'm curious, too.  I'd like to tweak the C34s HF, as I find it a bit loud / strident / harsh.  I've already exchanged emails with Peter Drefahl about some of the changes I'd like to make, and am curious to learn more about what RAL does to this mic.  Thanks for the link.  :)
