Help with Hi-MD Transfer
« on: August 22, 2007, 04:59:51 PM »
Hello everybody,

I have no idea where to post this so I thought I'd do it here.

Here is my problem. I taped some show with my Hi-MD recorder and 5 of them (including Muse and Beastie Boys) won't transfer for some reason with SonicStage. I tried to back them up using analog transfer but I wasn't happy with the results. Since the recordings are perfectly listenable on the MD (except a little skip) I'd like to know if anyone who has a MD deck could digitally transfer them for me.

Thanks a lot. I hope someone can help me.

Antoine

When you say you have "a little skip" what does that mean??  If they are recorded as PCM on a Hi-MD the only way you will be able to transfer them, digitally, is through the MZ-RH1.  I know of no other way other than analog.  That can be good if you set it up right.  The RH1 can upload any disc, including legacy ones so long as there is no DRM on them.

Merde alors!  Vous etes en France>  OK, try minidisc.org.  There are some folks there in France and Germany who will be able to help you more easily than anyone here stateside.  Tant pis; et bon chance.

Here's what I meant. I can transfer Hi-MD but those have an error and when I try to transfer them with SonicStage it says it's unable to transfer.

deinstall SonicStage from your harddisk and then restart and install the latest Sonic Stage 4.3.
maybe this helps.

Go over to a friend, borrow his PC and try the same operation there. If t works, that means your Windows registry is probably messed up, you'd better reinstall the entire system then...

Before you re-install the monster you might want to try CCleaner.  There are some other registry fixers, but ask around as the wrong one can make sure you re-install the system.  ;o)
