So, a little while back, i put together this pretty makeshift stand setup...
http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,80942.msg1076529.html#msg1076529 It works fairly good, but i have always been curious of ways to shockmount my setup. I am still a semi noob, and though the idea of a shockmount seems pretty self explanitory, do most of you guys things that it is a fairly important aspect of your recording setup, or just a nice added feature?
Don't get me wrong my little DIY t-bar works fine, i have made some excellent recordings (i mostly just point the mics at the stacks, or as close to 90 degrees as i can eyeball), but i have not been able to make any of the many DIY church audio mic stand setups because my mics have the little alligator clips attached to them. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Or do you think i should just stick with what i have?
thanks,
josh
