Help with first audience recording

Hi !

Last 6th Sept. i have made my first audience recording. I used the following equipment : Portadat
HBB PDR 1000 (DAT portable) (6 gain level) + AKG C-1000s cardiod mic connected to XLR phatom
power. Even if the  acustic of stadium was not very good i have obtained a good tape. But it sounds
some distant (50 m.) and well, I know that  is not a SBD but i wonder if i could improve it. That is,
to amplify the sound with software.

You can make it louder, but it will always sound distant.  Does this answer your question?
