I have always used Audio DVD creator with my XP machine.....It will not work with vista.


suggestions on something free (or cheap) to burn 24bit audio?

whatever burning program you have should be able to burn the iso to disc

You can also use the following command-line tools:

- Lplex,  to make an Audio DVD (= DVD-Video with 16-24/48-96 audio tracks, as you did with Audio DVD Creator),

- dvda-author, to make a DVD-Audio (DVDaudiofile is based on dvda-author),

- Hplex, if you'd like to make a hybrid DVD (=an Audio DVD + a DVD-Audio on the same disc).

I just used this for the first time over the weekend and I used the wav files.
Why do you say it's best to use the flac files?
It worked great though even though I heard a gap with my unit.

it seems to be hit or miss with wav files - at times they will not be seen by the program or will noty burn properly, i believe Scott (original creator) had FLAC files in mind when he designed it

yea I see what you mean by staying with flac because when converting to flac it seems to standardize the header whereas a .wav never flacced before might have a header the program will hang up on.
I get it, but the .wavs worked fine for me when I burned it. I just didn't see the point in creating more overhead when the .wavs were already there to use.

i'm using David Chapman's dvda-author, which works fine with flac, but expects a standard header for the wavs it processes (i believe 44 bytes, though that's just off the top of my head).  so it won't work with non-standad wav headers

in Nero express you go to Saved Image/ISO I believe and the you select the ISO file

its NOT the same as burning a Data disc
